Should a corporation like Starbucks be present in a national park like Yosemite? More than 20,000 people don’t think so. They’ve signed a Change.org petition to keep the coffee company out. The petition says the Starbucks would pave the way for more undue development, and that with the opening of the shop the national park “will lose its essence, making it hardly distinguishable from a chaotic and bustling commercial city.”

Winning Mexloop Hyperloop design could connect 42M people in new megalopolis

Elephants rescue 600 people from floods in Nepal

 

 
Due to heavy rains in Kathmandu, India, at least 15 people have been killed and 2.3 million displaced in just the past few days. Fortunately for approximately 600 foreigners who were visiting Sauraha, no additional lives were lost after the nearby Rapti River overflowed its banks. This is because elephants at the Chitwan National Park transported the tourists to safety.
