Passenger service Gett launches carbon-free travel in the UK

The black car transportation service, Gett, which is used as an alternative to Lyft and Uber in the United Kingdom is embarking on a new endeavor – implementing carbon free and carbon positive rides for all of its passengers. The world’s first 100% solar-powered train launches in Australia

A train entirely powered by solar energy is now rolling down tracks in Byron Bay, Australia. The Byron Bay Railroad Company refurbished a three-kilometer, or almost two-mile, stretch of tracks and restored a heritage train, outfitting it with a 6.5 kilowatt solar array with flexible solar panels. A limited service launched over the weekend, with full service commencing in January.

Pentatonic launches new brand of modern furniture made with nothing but trash

There are more to these chairs and table than you might expect. New brand Pentatonic, launching this week, is making furniture out of trash, but their commitment goes beyond simply recycling. They aim to use solely waste as a starting point, and create their own materials out of trash like old DVDs, plastic water bottles, and glass from smartphones. They pledge to take back their recyclable products when a consumer is finished with them, and turn them into new pieces.

China’s largest bike share launches air-purifying bicycles for 20 million citizens

To clean the air of pollution and create a healthier environment for future generations, eco-innovator Daan Roosegaarde recently partnered with Chinese bike-sharing program ofo and leading Chinese design platform TEZIGN to make his smog-free bicycles available to millions of consumers.
