China’s largest bike share launches air-purifying bicycles for 20 million citizens

To clean the air of pollution and create a healthier environment for future generations, eco-innovator Daan Roosegaarde recently partnered with Chinese bike-sharing program ofo and leading Chinese design platform TEZIGN to make his smog-free bicycles available to millions of consumers. In the near future, 20 million registered users will be able to clean the air as they cycle, as Roosegaarde’s highly-anticipated Smog Free Bicycles inhale dirty air, clean it, then pour it back out as fresh air.

World’s largest vertical garden blooms with 85,000 plants in the heart of Bogota

Vertical gardens are not only eco-friendly, but are also versatile design elements that can adapt to different spaces. The largest one in the world, built in the Santalaia building in Bogota, Colombia, features around 85,000 plants and covers an area of 3,100 square meters (33,368 square feet). The world’s largest artificial sun could fry any living thing in an instant

German scientists are hoping to shine new light on ways to generate environmentally friendly fuel. At the German Aerospace Center (DLR)’s Institute for Solar Research, scientists have flipped on a system called Synlight, which they describe as the biggest artificial sun on the planet. North Korea’s ‘Hotel of Doom’ is the world’s largest abandoned building

This pyramid-shaped hotel in North Korea, once a contender for the tallest hotel in the world, has remained unfinished since 1989 and instead became the world’s largest abandoned building. Studio Fuksas completes the largest project built in Rome in over 50 years

The project is built in Rome’s historic quarter EUR and boasts 55,000 square meters (13 acres) of mixed-use spaces, including a hotel. It is defined by three elements: “Theca”, the “Cloud” and the “blade” of the hotel.
