World’s most powerful wind turbine installed off the coast of Scotland

A record-breaking, world’s most powerful turbine was just installed of the Scotland coast. Developer Vattenfall announced this week that installation is complete on 11 turbines – two of which were upgraded to have a boosted capacity of 8.8MW – in Aberdeen bay. In total, the installation generates 93.2MW of energy, enough to power 70-percent of Aberdeen’s domestic needs.

Solar record-breaking China aims for 50GW installed in 2017

China, a consistent leader in solar power production and installation, is having another banner year, with 25 gigawatts of solar energy being installed in June and July alone by the People’s Republic.
