MIT engineers just unveiled living, glowing plants

What if you could read a book at night not with the help of a lamp or flashlight, but with a glowing plant? That’s the vision Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) weaves with new research from their engineers. They embedded nanoparticles into watercress leaves, inducing the greenery to emit dim light for almost four hours.

A river made of 10,000 glowing books flows through Toronto

The battle between pedestrians and vehicles continues. A group of Spanish artists collectivelly known as Luzinterruptus have created a wonderful installation that uses thousands of books to fight pollution, noise and traffic jams in the world’s largest cities. For one night, their installation called ” Literature vs. Traffic” transforms city streets into places of calm and culture, and is dismantled by the visitors who decide to take pieces of the artwork home.

Glowing orbs celebrate light and poetry in the heart of Istanbul

Light Field II is a public installation designed by Praxis Landscape as a sequel of one of its previous design projects.
The installation is placed in the Şairler Parkı (‘Park of Poets’) in the Besiktas district of Istanbul.
