Daylit retreat in Mexico fits perfectly into the surrounding walnut groves

A walnut garden and coffee plantations surround this retreat in Amacueca, México. CoA arquitectura and Departamento de Arquitectura designed Casa Amacueca using primarily stone and timber, creating a serene retreat that fits perfectly into the natural setting.

The layout of the house radiates from the central courtyard which allows more natural light to penetrate the interior. Slender timber columns frame a beautiful walkway that offers a visual connection between the living spaces and nature.

Bookshelf House fits hundreds of books into multifunctional furnishings

The Bookshelf House was created for a family of five who wanted a dramatic room-length bookshelf. To make the most of the small 160-square-meter interior, Mosca added large multifunctional bookshelves beautiful enough to serve as focal points. The bookcases were constructed from light beech wood and are slightly staggered for visual interest. Imagine having a bike able to fold up so small, you could bring it on an airplane in carry-on luggage. That’s the Kwiggle, a vehicle designed by German engineer Karsten Bettin. The Kwiggle rides like a mixture of walking and biking, and can be folded up and rolled alongside a rider, or be stowed under a subway seat or airplane overhead compartment.
