Reebok develops plant-based sneakers made of cotton and corn

In an act aimed squarely at sustainability in an industry known for heavy environmental impact, Reebok has created the first shoe made from plant-based materials. The Cotton + Corn initiative, announced in 2017 by the sporting-goods giant, touted the decision to move to plant-based materials as a way to clean up both production and post-consumer use in an industry that has always relied on petroleum in manufacturing.
