The Memorial Park Cemetery is situated on 50 pristine hectares in the heart of Prince George. Current interment options include traditional burials for both human and cremated remains, and the Mausoleum where the choice of crypt for full burial or a niche for cremations are available. Future burial options will include outdoor columbaria, ossuary and scattering gardens, a cremated remains only section, as well as an environmentally conscious green burial section. Kensal Green Cemetery open day 4/7/09

I normally miss this open day as im away but because im seeing Madonna this year im missing the first week I normally go away. Havent been to Kensal Green since the mid 90s. me and my mum had a day out on saturday to the open day and she had no idea what to expect. we got a guide book and found loads of famous graves, the daughter of Sir Winston Churchill, HRH Duke of cambridge, HRH Princess Sophia, Henry Russell and the Brunel family amongst many, we also came upon a photo shoot towards the end of the day which i decided to get some photos of. The cemetery is 72 acres, 250000 people are buried in this cemetery this includes 550 members of titled notability and over 700 of the great and good with entries in The Dictionary of National Biograghy. The first funeral was held january 1833, opened its crematorium in 1939 and still conducts burials and cremations daily. once a year on the first saturday in July there is an open day. As well as the Grade 1 listed neo classical Anglican Chapel of 1838 by John Griffiths of Finsbury, 140 buildings and monuments within Kensal Green are officially Grade ll or ll* listed as being special architechural or historic interest
