California plans to launch its own satellite to monitor air pollution


California is planning to launch its own satellite to track air pollution. Governor Jerry Brown announced the major initiative amid President Donald Trump’s bid to decrease NASA’s part in monitoring climate change. Brown has not announced when the state will launch the satellite or how much it will cost taxpayers.
