Dutch architecture firm Mecanoo and Luxembourg-based design practice Metaform Architects have placed first in an international design competition for the Mondorf-les-Bains Velodrome and Sports Complex in southeastern Luxembourg. Sculptural Haus B uses passive solar principles to surpass Germanys energy standards

Completed over the span of four years, Haus B is a passive solar home that’s a contemporary departure from the housing norm of the 1960s suburban neighborhood in which it resides.
