Nature takes center stage at this renovated Soviet resort in Georgia

An old Soviet resort received a modern makeover that transformed it into a stunning mountain retreat facing the dramatic Caucasus Mountain Range in Georgia. Tbilisi-based duo Nata Janberidze and Keti Toloraia restored the brutalist building as the new home of the Rooms Hotels Kazbegi, named after a 19th-century Georgian poet.

Snhetta unveils plans for worlds first energy-positive hotel in the Arctic Circle

Snøhetta has revealed designs for the world’s first energy-positive hotel in the Arctic Circle—an incredible proposal given the region’s below-freezing temperatures. Located at the foot of Svartisen, Norway’s second largest glacier, the circular Svart hotel will offer panoramic 360-degree views of the fjord and use solar panels to produce more energy than it needs.
